What actually flows through those wires is a profound mystery. All we really know about electricity is that it is a way in which things behave when they are electrified- a set of conditions and results. If you're thinking, "Electricity is the stream of electrons"- all our scientists know about electrons is that they are "something unknown, doing we don't know what". And, as we'll see later, there are very strict limits to what they'll ever know.
